Veronica Falls – one to watch
On the basis of first single Found Love In A Graveyard, Veronica Falls are a London band worth monitoring. They ought to be too, made up as they are of former and current members of Sexy Kids, The Royal We and Your Twenties, all successful bands. Judging by this, the only song currently available on Veronica Falls’ MySpace page, the band’s sound will revolve around singer Roxanne Clifford’s sultry, shrill vocals. This particular one has backing male voices and portentous guitars. Not overwhelming, it’s nonetheless a good tune that skulks along nicely.
According to an interview with Vice magazine, the song will feature on debut 12″ EP that Veronica Falls are releasing through Captured Tracks in the near future. The same chat also explains the quirky name and its unlikely cultural reference. Thanks to Gorilla vs Bear for flagging this one up to me in the first place.
